Climate March Saturday 6th December On Saturday 6th December we joined NOTRAG and many thousands of others and marched from Grosvenor Square to Parliament Square in London. The themes were NO to new coal and airport expansion and YES to renewable energy. Click here for more details. FOE Renewables Day Of Action On Saturday 25th October we set up a stall in Hayes Town Centre and asked people to sign postcards requesting the government keep to its target for renewable energy. We also had a petition opposing the proposed third runway at Heathrow and the threat to Cherry Lane cemetery. We were interviewed by Hayes FM. Click here to listen to the interview. Ickenham Festival 7-15 June In June we participated in the Ickenham Festival. We entered the carnival procession, and held an information and lucky dip stall at the Gala.Click here for the Festival website. Our group organised the Festival Treasure Hunt with a green/natural history theme. Click here to download the answers as a pdf, or here to download as a word document. The winner of the short route was Lucy Roach of 6th Ickenham Brownies, and the winners of the longer route Max and Kirstie Fullerton.

FOE Big Ask Day of Action On Saturday 5th April we set set up a stall in Hayes Town Centre. We invited our borough MPs (John Randall and John McDonnell) who support the Big Ask Campaign to visit us, but we also had a suprise visitor who bore a striking resemblance to our PM. What was he doing with that aeroplane ? |
